Welcome to my practice
I know that starting therapy is a difficult decision--most people do their best to solve their problems on their own, or with the help of family and friends. Calling a therapist is often a measure of last resort. But it shouldn't be. A good therapy experience will not only result in the resolution of your initial concerns, but will also help you to improve the quality of your life in ways you cannot even imagine at the beginning.
I am a licensed psychologist practicing in Bryn Mawr, PA. I work with people from all walks of life, with all sorts of problems. I provide individual therapy to late adolescents and adults. I am LGBTQ friendly.
Whether you are seeking therapy for help with a specific problem or general dissatisfaction with your life, I can help you to know yourself better. My clients tell me that talking to me is easier than they expected. Read more about your first visit and my approach to therapy to get a sense of how I work. If it feels right to you, call me at 484-832-5357 and leave a message on my confidential voicemail. I will return your call within 24 hours and we can talk about what you are looking for in more detail.
I think of therapy as a learning process, a way to become more self-aware, a path to living a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Such learning takes effort because change, even for the better, is often hard. But it’s a little easier to change within the context of a supportive relationship with a therapist.
I studied psychology and philosophy in college in Buffalo, NY. I have always been curious about the human mind, the way in which we form an identity, how we relate to one another, and how we find meaning in life.
Your First Visit
Your first visit will last about an hour. It is an opportunity for you to get a sense of how it feels to talk to me. Most people feel nervous during the first meeting with a therapist, but by the end you should feel a bit more at ease and interested in talking more. You should feel that I listened and understood what you talked about, and that I can help. I will give you the chance to ask me questions if you have any.
